Global warming... I told you so!

See! I knew this would happen... I called it.

While those of us on the west coast are enjoying a fairly mild summer, especially when compared to last years excessively hot summer. Most people I have spoken to here have said that they love this weather.

Well that is true, but the fact is that if we are having "abnormal" weather here, even if it happens to be "abnormally" nice, it is still abnormal. That means that elsewhere it is abnormal as well.
Where it rains, it will rain worse. Where it gets warm, it will get hotter. Where it is temperate, it will be milder. The point is that it will be odd, and just because odd happens to be nice right now, doesn't mean it's OK, or not scary.

Hypothetical - in the mid west it is overly warm for the first part of summer, which starts a little earlier than it typically does. Less rainfall on the front end, more heat in the middle, now we reach the end of the season and monsoon conditions, and the soil can't handle it, much less the drainage that is in place. Crops are lost, soils are ruined or swept away, next years crops are hurt, we can't produce as much, we import more than we already do (the United States has always imported more than we have exported), weakening our economic and global positions... further than a Texan motivated by greed running our country into the ground alone can do.

We have seen excessive hurricanes, heat waves, now flooding. Get used to this people, this is going to become a regular thing. Each year we will get similar scenarios, but it may vary from place to place - year to year. The point is it is just getting bad now, JUST STARTING, and boy the fun we are in for... :(
