Cinco de Mayo is a great time for cervesas, sombreros, and mariachis. It is also the day of a world wide event called
Let's start at the beginning. If you are not a memeber of flickr (Yahoo) then you should be. It is free, has no ads, and allows anyone to view your photos. Very useful.
Flickr has groups. Groups can be private or public. You can create a group that only your family members are allowed to join, that will give one repository for all of your family reunion photos. That way everyone in the family can post their photos of the event in a common location that everyone else in the family can view.
One group is the 24h hours of flickr group. This is a public group. Everyone who joins will take their camera with them and document their day, on Saturday May 5th. Then each person will pick their best photo of the day, and post it to this group. This will produce a day around the world as told in photos. I think it will be really cool, and I am participating.
Read all about it here.
If you like photography you should join, take some photos, and participate. It will be cool and if your photo is bad-ass enough it will make it into a coffee table book they are going to produce.
Have fun. Eyeyeyeyeye!
