Apparently air is passed through these "air extractor" devices and they extract the carbon dioxide and place it locally, probably in a tank underground(?), where it can be used for other purposes (apparently there are several industries that can directly make use of captured carbon dioxide). Also, this capture can be done anywhere in the world, offsetting pollution produced anywhere else in the world. Sounds great, but my initial reaction was that this may deter motivation for alternate energy, if we can just use this as a patch for the problem; we will still have to deal with dwindling energy resources though.
Comments were made as to the lack of supplied data and facts to back any of these claims, as well as notes about the over-exaggerated verbiage used in places, putting in question the credibility of this article and/or the technology it discusses; but none the less I feel that this is clearly something of merit, even if it does not work optimally now, we can call this maybe a proof of concept.
