Brain eating amoeba in water

Apparently there is an amoeba that lives in pretty much any water, lake, river, creek, stream, etc. that will get into your head via your sinus cavity and eat away at your brain until you die. It normally feeds on algae and stuff on the bottom, but can get stirred up and become internalized. 6 have died this year. Only a few hundred cases are known world wide since the 60's. If you get it, you will likely not know. You may experience a stiff neck and will likely get a headache that will not go away. Then you will die, within 1 - 2 weeks of contracting the amoeba. There is very little science/medicine can do for you; survivability is extremely low, as is chance of infection. Something to think about next time you want to go for a swim... the parent of a child that died from it sure won't ever let his remaining children swim in the lake again.
