"The whereabouts of the squirrel are unknown"

A school in San Jose has a mobile classroom (a trailer). This classroom is near the only clump of trees on the campus. This classroom is full of first graders, and has the door open due to nice weather.

The school, without "a history of problem squirrels", has suffered an attack. A rouge squirrel wandered into the classroom, immediately running up some woman's leg, like a squirrel, thus provoking a human attack on the squirrel, provoking a squirrel attack on the humans involved. The squirrel promptly ran out the door, and into an 11 year old nearby, and proceeded to take out his frustrations on her as well.

"T
he district plans to begin trapping on campus immediately" and the classroom was moved... away from the trees... where a squirrel may or may not live...

The wildlife center's operations director indicates it was probably one of those "things"...

"I think any animal that is cornered is going to do that fight-and-flight thing," operations director of the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley Janet Alexander Thompson said.
Ha! This is hilarious. Good writing, good reading.

And by the way, it's fight or flight...
