Putin offers US easy out of missile stuggle

Putin made offers like putting the missile defense shield in Iraq or on floating ocean platforms. Iraq objected, saying they have not been involved or asked about this situation, Putin just threw it out there. Basically he is offering the US an easy "face-saving" way out of the situation, so they can say to the world "yeah, we're going to put it on an ocean platform", waste a few hundred million dollars on the project which would be worthless, and step down the escalating tensions.

Putin claims that the placement of the missile defense system in Eastern Europe in the Czech Republic or Poland would shift the balance of power in Europe as it could be used to stop Russian missiles. He also claims that if things continue as planned he will aim Russian missiles at European targets.
